NICU Dictionary provides a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that includes:
- Easy Text and Voice Search: Search the English word or term for crib in Spanish. Type in the search box or a speak the term “crib” under the Spanish equivalent highlight, you get “cuna”. You also get the plural form of “cribs” or “cunas”. If you are looking for a synonym of the word “cuna” select Synonym and get “cama”. If you need the gender of the word “cuna“the app will display either “m“for masculine or in this case “f” for feminine. If you would like to hear the word pronounced by a native speaker, click the link to speech and hear the spoken word. (coming). Illustrative images (coming), helping to understand anatomy and physiology in both languages. Bonus additions of audio pronunciations in both English and Spanish, helping users fully understand the meaning and context of medical language.
In addition to nouns, some conjugated verbs, adjectives and adverbs, the NICU Dictionary has a verb section of infinitive -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. In the future irregular verbs will be added with different, but equally simple search methods.
- Emergency Phrases: In urgent situations, our curated list of essential emergency phrases provides users with quick, reliable translations and explanations, bridging communication in critical moments.
- Visual and Audio Aids: For teaching purposes, visual and audio aids will demonstrate conditions, procedures, and treatments used to treat patients with the labeling of anatomical landmarks and an explanation of the procedural equipment in English and Spanish. The World Health Organization (WHO) (coming) has identified a number of congenital defects, with detailed descriptions of the conditions, and how to report the finds to WHO. With these birth defects, photographs and drawings are provided to you for a more complete understanding of the conditions.
